The economic capital of Nigeria, Lagos has been hosting the international Festival of Photography for 9 years. The tradition will be respected this year.

The 9th edition of the “LagosPhoto Festival” will take place from October 27th to November 15th. On the menu, exhibitions, workshops and conference-debates. A special emphasis will be placed on African artistic diversity and on local talents.

For a month, more than 25 photographers and visual artists from Madagascar, Ghana, Tunisia, Germany and elsewhere will confront their vision of the time that passes and presses.

This year’s theme is “Time has gone“. Through this theme the participants in this festival will explore the way in which the past, the present and the future mingle. “Time has gone” also wants to express the urgency of the time that passes and that we heel.

In addition, it will be an opportunity for documentary photographers to submit their portfolio for the best portfolio Award of the “LagosPhoto Festival”, and eventually become a contributor to National Geographic.

Those who want to compete can send their work in PDF format to LPreview@africanartists.org. A nice reward of 5000 dollars is reserved for the winner. Candidates have until October 10 to apply. This opportunity is open to all African and diaspora photographers.
